For the third year in a row, MRP Training Solutions received the gold HIRE Vets Medallion Award. The Honoring Investments in Recruiting and Employing American Military Veterans Act (HIRE Vets Act) Medallion Program is the only federal award program that recognizes employers who successfully recruit, hire, and retain veterans. MRP is one of 859 recipients recognized by the U.S. Department of Labor during an award ceremony on November 8 for earning the award in 2023.
“I am proud to have the privilege of recruiting veterans like myself who want to give back and who care about the success of others,” said Andrew Hayes, retired Navy Senior Chief Operations Specialist and CEO of MRP Training Solutions. “MRP is a team of true professionals making a meaningful, direct impact on Fleet readiness worldwide.”
MRP is one of 18 small California-based companies to receive this recognition and joins 858 other companies from 49 states, plus the District of Columbia, who have shown a commitment to hiring veterans but also ensuring that they have a long-term career and growth plan that uses the diverse skills they acquired through their military service.
“We are fortunate to have such a capable team of veterans who continue to serve the US Navy,” said Andrew Hayes, CEO of MRP Training Solutions. “Veterans bring the skillsets, experience, work ethic, and commitment we need to continue to support our government and industry partners. As a company, we work to ensure we provide them with the direction, resources, influences, and support needed for them to thrive.”
More than 200,000 service members transition from the military to civilian life each year, Julie Su, Acting Secretary of Labor, revealed during the awards ceremony.
“These new career seekers are highly skilled problem solvers,” Su said. “They have a strong work ethic. They are proven leaders. They are diverse. In other words, our nation’s veterans are a huge asset to the American workforce.”
Recipients of the 2023 HIRE Vets Medallion Award meet rigorous employment and veteran integration assistance criteria, including:
- Veteran hiring and retention percentages
- Availability of veteran-specific resources
- Dedicated human resource efforts
- Pay compensation and tuition assistance programs for veterans.
More than 1600 employers have earned a HIRE Vets Medallion Award since 2018.
