René joined MRP as Operations manager after spending over 10 years as General Manager Safety, Security and Environment for a large company with locations in the United States and Canada. In this position René became certified ISO 9001: Quality Management Systems and ISO 14001: Environmental Management Systems Internal Auditor.
René retired from the U.S. Coast Guard as a Chief Machinery Technician with more than 21 years of service. She had a well-rounded career serving on board two cutters, two small boat stations, a marine safety office, and two training tours at Training Center Yorktown. There she served in Instructor Development providing performance development training to instructors, the Entry Level Port Operations Course providing instruction to USCG E4-E8 enlisted and 01-05 officers entering the Marine Safety Field, and provided instruction in Maritime Safety and Security to the International Maritime Officers Course. After the Maritime Transportation Security Act regulations were published, she was part of team that in eight weeks planned, designed, and developed a performance-based, interactive course, to qualify over 200 Coast Guard personnel to conduct compliance inspections at waterfront facilities deterring potential acts of terrorism.
After retirement, she was a contract instructor for three years for the U.S. Coast Guard Marine Science Technician “A” School, as a Subject Matter Expert for Maritime Safety and Security.
